The seminarn analyzes how current global crises are the result of a social and urban model that prioritizes individual autonomy and the separation between city and nature, thereby impoverishing quality of life.
In response, feminist thought proposes a paradigm shift in territorial management, based on:
- Overcoming dualisms: Valuing complexity, relationships, differences, and interdependencies.
- Gender perspective: Recognizing care and social reproduction activities as essential priorities for public action.
- Participatory approach: Critically analyzing urban spaces to eliminate discrimination and exclusion, promoting listening processes to make territories more accessible and inclusive.
The seminar, inspired by the book “Prospettive femministe sulla città. Vivere insieme tra cura, ecologia e giustizia spaziale” (Feminist Perspectives on the City. Living Together through Care, Ecology, and Spatial Justice; CNR Edizioni, 2025), aims to foster a multidisciplinary dialogue on how to translate this paradigm shift into concrete action for cities and territories.
